We are hoping you can attend and/or share out information on an event happening on November 10, 2021, 6-7:30 pm called Racist at the Root: Tracing the Racist Tactics of the Tobacco Industry. This event is a collaboration of Jefferson County Public Health, Boulder County Public Health, Denver Department of Public Health and Environment, Public Health Institute at Denver Health, and Tri-County Health Department with keynote speaker, Carol McGruder, founding member and co-chair of the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council. The event aims to increase awareness of the racist tactics of the tobacco industry, examine how tobacco policies can advance health equity, and describe ways to get involved in local advocacy efforts. Participants are encouraged to register ahead of time and attendees will be entered into a gift card raffle. This event will have Spanish interpretation available and is open to the general public, community partners, and local decision-makers.
