YOU ARE INVITED SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH  AT 10AM

GAINING GROUND IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY

COMMUNITY CONVERSATION  ON

“WINTER IN AMERICA: BLACK COMMUNITY NOT BOUNCING BACK – BOUNCING FORWARD”

CBRT, Denver Urban Spectrum Magazine, the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce and other community businesses and organizations will hold a post election critical community conversation on “Winter In America – The Election Is Over, But The Pandemics Are Still Here.” This meeting is an opportunity to bring our concerned citizens, brilliant thinkers and community leaders together to discuss perspectives, plans and proposals for the betterment of metro Denver area Black citizens and all Black Coloradoans. This zoom meeting will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 10am-12noon. CBRT has invited 50 metro area community leaders to share their perspectives in a CBRT Gaining Ground in The Black Community zoom conversation on the results of the 2020 election and what this means to the Black community going forward. Black Elected Officials and Black Community leaders representing faith, business, media, education, social justice, fraternities, sororities, health, housing, seniors and youth serving organizations have been invited to participate.

John Bailey, CBRT Program Coordinator said in making this announcement, “while the election is soon to be over on November 3rd the issues and concerns we have as a community and as a people won’t dramatically change on November 4th. The outcome will either be hope for a much better future or a continuation of planned democratic disconnection, decay and disruption. Either way, what we can do irregardless of who wins is to focus our attention toward authentic change in our Black Community’s attitude and commitment to not go backwards. To go forward with all deliberate speed, beginning with the end results in mind. We are at a “never again” moment and we as a community and a people need to know what that means for us historically and futuristically as well as what that means to our planning, thoughts and actions in our Gaining Ground efforts and the Black Lives and Black Minds Matter Movement currently.”
